Cheap Eats — Chocolat
Instead of the usual date on Valentine’s Day, why not invite friends over for a chocolate cake tasting party? It’s an excellent excuse to eat chocolate and produce the feel good endorphins at the same time. I learned about Chocolat from the blog Dessert Comes First, an attitude that I firmly believe in.

Chocolate Slice- The cakes are so moist they feel heavenly inside the mouth, and they stay that way even after a week inside the ref. What’s more, when you buy by the slice, you’ll find that the sides are coated with chocolate icing as well. |

Kahlua Chocolate Cake- All the flavors are intoxicating to a non-alcohol drinking person like me, and I picked this one first because it was the most familiar. Topped with chocolate chips, it’s the only way to distinguish it from the others. |

Chocolate Irish Cake- The only way to tell this apart from the others is to see whether it’s topped with peanuts. |

Chocolate Bailey’s Cake- The chocolate shavings are a must so your palate can recover. |

Classic Chocolate Cake- A welcome respite from the other flavors, this is a must when there are children in the gathering. My 10 yo nephew ate the Bailey’s by mistake, and it gave him a headache. |

Chocolate Cake in Loaf Sizes- Chocolat cakes may be ordered in slices, loaf sizes, or in 6-inch or 9-inch rounds. I suggest this size because the price range is Php 145-160. |
Although I may have made it sound as if the flavors are really strong, the chocolate envelops it in a very agreeable coating, and to my other friends, they can barely discern the alcohol. So, I guess it really depends on your taste.
Chocolat’s address is: G/F Llanar Bldg., 77 Xavierville Ave., Loyola Heights, QC. From Katipunan Ave. heading south, turn right into Xavierville Ave., watch out for a two-level structure on your right which has a vegetarian restaurant. Chocolat is not on Xavierville Ave. itself but on the side of Llanar Building, so you have to enter a small bumpy street.

The loaf size is not available because the company manufacturing the loaf tins ran out. I had to order the 9 inch round because they don’t bake the 6 inch round anymore
