Kalachuchi Flower Salad Recipe

Deep Fry the Other Ingredients- Deep fry the garlic and onion until they’re crispy brown. Remove from the pan and set aside. And then cook the tomatoes in the flavored oil for a few minutes. |

Add the Other Ingredients- Add the tomato, peanuts, onion and garlic to the chopped kalachuchi petals. |

Mix- Just using your hand, mix all the ingredients together. Add salt, pepper and chili to taste. |

Garnish and Serve- Serve the salad. Garnish with a kalachuchi flower if you wish. |

Kalachuchi Flower Salad Ingredients
50 small kalachuchi flowers
1 cup fried peanuts (with skin removed, then chopped or pounded)
3 small tomatoes
3 cloves of garlic
2 small onions
5T of any cooking oil
Salt, Pepper and Chili to taste

And, yes, I definitely tasted the kalachuchi flower salad since I was the one who requested the cook to whip it together for me.
Unbelievably, if I didn’t know any better, I would have thought I was eating a pasta dish with an Asian sauce. The kalachuchi flower petals gained the consistency of pasta once cooked.

This is most interesting. I didn’t know that the flower that I am always seeing can be eaten. And that when cooked, it is similar to pasta. I was thinking how sayang, the petals of the flowers on the ground. Maybe I should gather them next time and try cooking it.
