Tanghalang Pilipino Noli Me Tangere Auditions
Tanghalang Pilipino, the resident theatre company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, is staging Noli Me Tangere the Musical in November. It’s going to be a gruelling rehearsal/performance schedule so applicants are asked to be available from the last week of August to the first week of December. And I quote, “Those who will not be available for the production schedule need not apply.”
It may sound a bit harsh but it is done merely to ensure that precious time is not wasted. For those who are interested, details are as follows.
Tanghalang Pilipino will have auditions for the new
dynamic staging of Bien Lumbera and Ryan Cayabyab’s
musical — NOLI ME TANGERE.
Auditions will be on:
August 19, 6:00pm to 10:00pm
August 20, 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Bulwagang Amado Hernandez,
ground floor, CCP Main Building.
Registration is from August 16 to 18, 10:00am to

TP is looking for:
strong singer-actors, 18 years old and above.
Applicants should bring their comprehensive resumé
with a 2×2 picture (or bigger) and must prepare to
sing one fast song and one slow song, either in
Filipino or English, accompanied by a properly-cued
minus one tape, a music piece or CD. Those who will
not be available for the production schedule (last
week of August to the first week of December) need not
apply.
NOLI ME TANGERE is a tale of intrigue, murder and
insanity…of an angry young man’s scathing indictment
against Spanish colonial power. This musical take on
the Philippine National hero’s supreme magnum opus
blaringly confronts the deceit of religious
charlatans, our decadence and subservience, and lends
a fresh perspective to this literary epic that spawned
the birth of a nation.
Noli Me Tangere (The Musical) is directed by Paul
Morales, with lighting design by Ian Torqueza, Shoko
Matsumoto as lighting consultant, set design by Clint
Ramos and Jed Balsamo as musical director.
