Reserve Harry Potter 6 at Powerbooks
On July 16, 2005, the sixth Harry Potter book will be available to the public. For some of you who are still wondering which bookstore you should choose to reserve your copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, you might want to consider these.
I have asked three bookstores, namely, Fully Booked, National Bookstore, and Powerbooks regarding the discounts and freebies they’re offering for the Harry Potter fan.
10% Discount- If you reserve with any of these 3 bookstores before July 16, 2005, you will automatically get a 10% discount. The retail price is P1, 499.00, so less 10% that’s P1, 349.10.
Doors Open 7:01am- However, only Powerbooks will open its doors at 7:01 am on July 16, 2005. That’s almost a 3-hour head start over those who are willing to wait until the conventional malls open at 10am.
For the fans getting their copies at Shoemart Megamall, Powerbooks’ EDSA entrance will be opened and you can park in the basement parking of Building A. The parking entrance can be accessed by going down the steep driveway. It will be on your right side nearest to EDSA.
In the meantime, for those who are getting their copies at Greenbelt, the Greenbelt 3 basement parking is open 24 hours, so no problem there. The stairs beside the Chocolate Bar will be hopefully open so that Harry Potter fans can easily go up to the entrance at the next level.
I imagine the Powerbooks in Alabang should be no problem at all because the entrance is easily accessible through the courtyard. No need to go through the mall.
500 Freebies- After you’ve gotten your book, head towards the Glorietta Activity Center where the first 500 holders of Harry Potter Powerbooks receipts will get a freebie. According to Powerbooks marketing associate, Laureen Tecson, this is separate from the freebies that the early bird fans will get when they buy their copy.
Diagon Alley and Contests- After you have claimed your freebie, you might as well go and stroll through Diagon Alley at the Glorietta Activity Center. Sample the activities that are being offered. You can create your own snitch, hat or wand. And then you can have your picture taken.
Finally, scrutinize the dioramas in the Create Your Own Harry Potter Book Scene on display and guess which scene and from which book it came from.
Aside from the diorama contest, there will be a Costume Contest where you can get dressed as your favorite character. It’s open to everyone. Registration starts 2pm.
The Harry Potter Trivia elimination rounds were held last July 9, 2005 at 3pm in three Powerbooks branches- Alabang, Greenbelt and Megamall. The finalists will be notified during the week. The highest scoring fans will have a chance to show off their knowledge of the Harry Potter books during the show on July 16, 2005 at the Glorietta Activity Center.
July 16, 2005 Glorietta Activity Center 4:30 Show- On July 16, 2005, there will be a magical show from 4:30-6pm at the Glorietta Activity Center, where the contest contenders from the Costume Contest and the Harry Potter Trivia Contest will be featured. There will be games and surprise acts featured as well.
Of course, all these are just added attractions to buying the book. But my advice is, reserve it at Powerbooks because the mere fact you can start reading at around 7 something in the morning is more than enough inducement for any Harry Potter fan.

Does anyone know when the Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince auditons will be held? Because I want to audition, and who eva tells me the correct info about the audtions will have their names given to the director as an extra!!!!!! If you know, please email me on smithy.jr@msn.com. Thank you.
I would suggest that you log on to the Children’s BBC Harry Potter page, because they regularly release audition details. It would also help if you’re from the UK. Good luck! Lorna
Hi i love your Harry Potter and I would love to play the part as one character.
Hi Heather,
The female child actor playing Luna Lovegood is from an open casting call held in London. However, they’ve finished with principal photography for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The next auditions will probably be for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Please check the BBC Harry Potter website regularly for audition announcements.
Break a leg!
