Cheap Eats — Mannang

You might want to try the easily accessible Mannang — another Cheap Eats find recommended by my sister found right smack in Megamall Building A basement level. Mannang is the sister restaurant of the more well known Chinese restaurant Mann Hann. Mannang reminds me of the Ebun restaurant in Greenbelt, which also does Filipino dishes with a twist.

Baked Oysters in Basil, Garlic, Tomato Baked Oysters in Basil, Garlic and Tomato-At Php 180, we were happy to slurp on these yummy oysters.

Prawn Sotanghon Prawn Sotanghon- Kept warm over a little fire, this Php 180 concoction was a visual and gustatory delight.

Tofu Sisig Tofu Sisig- A favorite with a healthy alternative at Php 80.

Inihaw na Pusit Inihaw na Pusit- The addition of mangoes in the stuffing adds a nice little sweet taste in the end for Php 120.

Garlic Mustasa Garlic Mustasa- Unfamiliar with this vegetable, the Php 80 dish was an experience.

Chicken Liver Chicken Liver- Nicely priced at Php 28/stick, the garnishing on the side of red egg and tomato was a surprise with crunchy dilis in it.

Guinomis Guinomis- This Php 60 dessert is much better for a solo endeavor than shared.

Turon Turon- Stuffed with bananas and sweet langka, this is definitely a good choice at only Php 40.

Happy eating! ;-)

I’m a definite Mannang-convert! I’ve been to their branch in Megamall several times and every experience was really super!!! They really serve good food with a very reasonable price.

I ate first time at Mannang SM Mall of Asia dated 11/12/06, around 5 pm. It wasn’t a pleasant experience, the waitress wasn’t helpful when asked about the menu, didn’t let us know than one order is only for 3 people – thre’s 8 of us. Service is slow and the worst part I was charged for food we didn’t see. I never saw roast chicken on the table that night but I paid for it with also some extra orders we didn’t mention were in my receipt. There’ s something wrong with that place!!!
