3 Reasons Why I Didn’t Get a Nose Lift

As an actor, my physical characteristics are, of course, part of my stock and trade. I must admit that it did occur to me to have a nose lift for commercial purposes, i.e., I thought that a more mestiza looking nose might get me more jobs.

As a result, I went to a plastic surgeon who had already performed a nose lift procedure on a friend, so that I could get more information before deciding on what to do. Besides, the meeting would be for free, so, I thought, ‘What could it hurt?’

However, by the end of the consultation, I was laughing inwardly at myself for having even considered it.

I can’t rub it vigorously. This is really going to sound ridiculous, but I find enormous satisfaction from manipulating my nose to a ruddy pulp when I have a cold, the kind that requires great exhalations with great pressure behind it. Once I get a nose lift, this particular pleasure would come to an end.

I will get bigger nostrils. One of the things that I really appreciated about my nose after the consultation is the Asian flat line. If you notice, a straight line can be drawn from one end of the Asian nose to the other end. With a Caucasian nose, a V-line will be drawn because the nostrils tilt a bit upward, the result being that more of the innards of the nostrils can be seen.

This was the deciding factor for me. The idea of paying somebody so that more of my nose hair can be seen was absurd. I like them discreet and hidden, thank you very much.

I will look like a successful genetic experiment. When I meet somebody for the first time, I always get a comment that they get the feeling that they’ve seen me before, and a lot of them say that I look like their friend, their cousin, etc.

If I have a nose lift, my looks will become even more standard, grouping me with a collection of individuals who have a “certain look” that will help me lose my physical individuality; and, at a glance, will form the impression that I’m a specimen of a successful genetic experiment wherein the scientists played with the same genes and produced a large number of persons from the same genetic strain.

I already have that problem in a manageable amount, it would be ludicrous to add to it.
