The Fitness First Face of Asia 2006 Calendar Winners

Entries from the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Hongkong/China, Indonesia, and Malaysia vied for 12 slots to be the face of the month and 24 slots to be featured in the calendar as well, a total of 36 prizes to be won, which the Filipinos amassed in a sum of 11 wins, a 31% haul.

For the face of the month, he/she will win 3 months of FREE Fitness First Philippines membership, and there were 3 successful members who were chosen, namely:

Irene Chua FF Makati
Joanna Marie dela Rama FF Fort Bonifacio

I like the fact that Mr. Antigua won because he proves that health and fitness is valued in the mature population as well.

As I’ve said before, I like the fact that the contest focuses on the face, as in the photos sent in by the contestants must be of the face only, not a full body profile. It gives the impression that the contest is about who you are, and not how you look physically. Well, not that physical beauty is not a factor, but I am of the opinion that the only way to animate the face is with character.
